EXTRA! EXTRA!

Here are some activities for you, so you can have some empathy about the strike and how these children used to live and work at such a young age. Also how they requested their rights thinking that nobody gave them a voice just for being "kids" not only kids, orphans.

ACTIVITY 3

Think and write about it.

Have you ever felt without a voice? Why or why not? Have you ever felt the need to express what you are thinking? Why is this important?

ACTIVITY 1

Write a letter to one of the strikers in 1899. Think, what would you tell him due to his current situation? What advice would you give him / her?

ACTIVITY 2

We're living a similar situation here in Mexico. What do you think is the strongest subject to talk about during a strike? What would you strike about in Mexico?

Choose a partner and create a banner where you express your strike. Remember, it does not have to be aggressive just strong enough for people to reflect on what you are communicating.

ACTIVITY 4

If the character your playing was real, what would be something you would care to talk about?

*You can write this as a script, a letter or an essay. GET CREATIVE!
